I saw this movie on DVD last week. I had heard about this movie and had liked the promos. Usually, I like these kind of movies that are not commercial and then have characters that are based in real location. I must say that I am disappointed after having just seen only the part one. Movie looked very disjointed to me. The characters didn't seem real. The rise in power of various characters seemed very unnatural to me. Manoj Bajpayee is a good actor but what he did in this movie is samewhat he has done in other movies. None of the female characters were impressive except getting a few lines that you would not expect females to say. <br/><br/>I loved Sneha's music in LSD but was somewhat disappointed to hear her music in this movie. There was really no song I can remember from this movie except may be one line "keh ke loonga" (loosely translates to "I will tell and then take your ..").<br/><br/>Disappointed by part 1 but will wait to see part 2.<br/><br/>Just saw part2 of this movie on DVD. Part2 was really more of part 1 with the next generation involved in killing and philandering. I did not like either parts and was disappointed.
This is what I call a real bold step towards true wholesome cinematic experience in Bollywood. Anurag Kashyap is known for his out of the box storytelling ability and he has taken this to greater Heights with Gangs. Based on real cum fictional story Gangs show you what real Bihar was few decades back. My few friends are from Bihar and while watching the film I can actually relate to their conversation. The film is all about brilliant moments and they are numerous that you wont give a damn about the story. You will feel entertained by some mind blowing dialogues which I can only say 2nd to sholay. I have seen many Sunny Deol Movies with meaningless dialogues please don't compare with them. Anurag Kashyap's hardwork shows, he has done immense research which you can experience it on the way everything is shown in detail. Bang On characterization, well timed songs, witty and funny dialogues, brilliant script and direction. This film is going to take away all filmfares this year. Strictly for adults must watch guys in theatreI don't think Indian Govt will allow this movie to be aired on television. Don't miss it. I am eagerly waiting for its ultimate part bring it on Anurag.
